LMC Honored for Outstanding Value
Lakeview Medical Center is one of 10 Wisconsin hospitals recognized nationally for the outstanding value it provides to the communities it serves.
The hospital has been recognized as a Community Value Five-Star facility by Cleverly Associates, a health care consulting firm. In an independent study, Cleverly Associates developed the Community Value Index to measure the increasing importance put on value by both health care reform and consumers, the index focuses on four areas: Financial viability and plant reinvestment; Hospital cost structure; Hospital charge structure; Hospital quality performance.
LMC ranked in the top 20% of hospitals in their group of more than 1,400 small rural non-teaching hospitals across the nation. LMC earned a score of 74.5 compared to the national average of 62 and is one of only 10 hospitals in Wisconsin to make this national list.
"We again are so proud of this designation by an objective third party," said Ned Wolf, chief administrator of LMC.
The first recognition came in 2009 when LMC was one of 100 hospitals in the United States to make a national top 100 list in a survey compiled by Data Advantage. "Both of these awards mean a lot to us and the patients we serve. Every day we work to enhance the patient experience, and to have an impartial party recognize this is extremely meaningful," said Wolf.
Both studies used publicly reported Medicare data for their surveys.
