Hospice Spiritual Care Counselor

Position Description:
The Hospice Spiritual Care Counselor as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team is responsible for overseeing the spiritual care needs of Hospice patients and families ensuring that their needs are met.  Either the spiritual counselor will attend to the spiritual needs or will communicate with the patient’s clergy person as requested by patient and/or family.

Qualifications:
Has the ability to do a spiritual assessment of the patient and family and to deliver an appropriate response to the spiritual care needs.  Has the ability to minister in the various Hospice care settings by being open, flexible, and ecumenical.  Has the ability to work with clergy persons of all faiths and has knowledge of various religious practices and beliefs.  Degree in Hospital Chaplaincy or a graduate of an accredited seminary or school of Theology desired.

Normal Work Schedule:
Flexible daytime hours. Must be willing to travel within a 40 mile radius of LMC
